Plateau Building Collapse: Presidential Aide, Asefon Mourns Victims – “It’s A Profound Tragedy”

THE Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Student Engagement, Hon. Comr. Sunday Dayo Asefon, has expressed deep grief over the death and injury of students from Saint Academy School in Busa-Buji, Jos North, Plateau State, due to the collapse of the two-story building housing the school.

In a statement signed by himself, Hon. Asefon prayed for God to grant repose to the souls of the deceased students and quick recovery for those hospitalized. He appealed to Nigerians in the area to visit nearby hospitals and donate blood to save the lives of the students.

He commended the efforts of NEMA, SEMA, Red Cross, and security agencies for their prompt interventions in rescuing trapped children and transporting them to hospitals.

While commiserating with the Government and people of Plateau State, he called on the State Government to set up a panel of inquiry to investigate the root cause of the collapse and take prompt action to prevent any further losses.
