Minister Olawande Facilitates NITDA/NYSC Partnership to Train 30 Million in Digital Skills

THE Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande led a delegation consisting of the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and his management team to the office of the NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Y.D. Ahmed to conclude on a partnership talk he initiated between the two agencies.

The meeting is aimed at harnessing a strategic partnership between the National Information Technology Development Agency and NYSC to foster digital literacy and cultivate talent through the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) initiative.

Through the partnership, millions of Nigerian youth would receive training in digital skills that will help them compete for employment, access vital digital services, engage in the digital economy, and generally improve their employability.

During the visit, NYSC Director-General, Brig Gen Y.D. Ahmed pledged to establish a Community Development Service (CDS) group to support this initiative which will go a long way to impact digital literacy and the development of a tech talent pool to transform the economy and produce long-term, inclusive growth.

In his remarks, the Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande reiterated the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards ensuring a conducive atmosphere for Nigerian youth to succeed, noting that the partnership with NITDA to train corp members is one effort that will improve the skill set of Nigerian youth and consequently guarantee a better future for all.

A statement by NITDA appreciates the efforts of Hon. Ayodele Olawande, the state minister for Youth Development, for facilitating the partnership.
