Ex-minister Aregbesola removes APC logo from campaign office

Ahead of elections, the former Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has removed insignia of the All Progressives Congress from his office.

It was gathered that the building known as Oranmiyan House is a highrise building situated in the heart of Osogbo and served Aregbesola’s campaign office and later office of the Osun Progressives.

Insight Media reports that the white color painted high rise building which hitherto wore the colors of APC and with several poles bearing flags of the party and the National flags adorning its frontage, has been given a distinctly new look.

All insignia and identity of APC and the gigantic photos of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari which formerly adorned the building have been removed. They have been replaced with another equally large size images of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo also Late Chief Bola Ige and with Aregbesola’s picture inserted in the middle.

Also the huge inscription of the APC logo has finally been replaced with Omoluabi Progressive Caucus logo.

The same remodeling was observed at Aregbesola’s campaign office in his hometown of Ilesa.

A member of the caucus, Kazeem Olanrewaju said, they are trying to return to the progressives ideas that led to the creation of APC.

Olanrewaju posited that “Tinubu and Akande have both derailed from the Progressive ideas. Progressives politics, that started with Awolowo and Bola Ige, is not about power. It’s about impacting lives.”

He condemned Tinubu’s government for having “no achievement in a year of running Nigeria. What is progressive about running Nigeria for a year without achievement.”

When asked if they’ll restore APC logos at their office, Olanrewaju said, “we will bring back banners later.”

Aregbesola fell out with Tinubu following his outburst against the president in January 2022.

He was visibly absent during all APC rallies across the country prior to the presidential election.
