The presidency has announced a date for President Bola Tinubu’s return to Nigeria after an official trip to Saudi Arabia.
VAM News reports that there has been concerns about the health and whereabouts of President Tinubu since his last official trip to Saudi Arabia for the World Economic Forum (WEF).
It’s been over a week since the even ended but President Tinubu is yet to return to the country.
But in a tweet on Tuesday, May 7, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, revealed that Tinubu will return to the country on Wednesday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with his aides, will return to Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” he tweeted.
Earlier, the minister of health, Tunji Alausa, declared that President Tinubu’s absence was not due to ill-health.
Alausa maintained that contrary to speculations, Tinubu is not away from Nigeria on medical grounds.
“Let me tell you, we are developing a healthcare system for Nigerians not for the President. We have 220 million Nigerians and that’s what Mr President wants,” the minister announced.
“We have a president that is well, that is healthy and leading the country in the right direction,” he added.
