Amotekun arrest security guard for theft in Osun

The operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a young man identified as Micheal Eze, 25 years old from Ebonyi State, a private security guard working at GRA, Osogbo for stealing nine Air Conditioners.

The suspect was arrested on Monday at GRA Osogbo around 7:30 am by the operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps for stealing Air Conditioners from the house where he was employed as a private security guard, he was caught in the act after selling nine Air Conditioners worth Four hundred thousand Naira each to Hausa scrap buyers at Five thousand Naira each, while two air-conditioners were recovered from his buyers.

He confessed to the act that this is not the first time of perpetrating the same act if removing the Air conditioners from where it was fixed in the house and selling them to the Hausa scrap buyers before he was arrested by the Amotekun operatives.

Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi asserted that the operatives of the corps arrested the suspect who specialises in stealing
air conditioners and selling them to scrap buyers before luck ran against him.

He said the operatives swung into action after a complaint was made against the suspect for stealing the air-conditioners of the house where he works as a security guard and he was apprehended.

“Upon preliminary investigation, he confessed to perpetrating the act and not the first time of perpetrating the crime and selling the stolen items to his Hausa scrap customers”. Adewinmbi said.

The suspect has been handed over to the Director of State Security Service(DSS) for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
