THE Osun State Police Command has revealed that it has put necessary security measures in place to ensure that this year’s Easter season is celebrated peacefully.

The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, made this known in a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola in Osogbo on Tuesday.

The statement said the Police Command will continue to work diligently to guarantee adequate and watertight security during the period and beyond, especially at religious centres, social gatherings and leisure parks.

The statement also warned people with criminal intentions that the Command will not condone any act of lawlessness as anyone culpable would face the wrath of the law.

“This announcement is to further re-assure the good people of Osun State that the Police Command will continue to work diligently to guarantee adequate and watertight security during this period and beyond at all religious centres, social gatherings and leisure parks.

“People with Criminal intents are also put on notice that the Police will not condone any act of lawlessness as anyone found in this act will be made to face full wrath of the law.

“The Osun State Police Command further appeals to the public to always give prompt and actionable information in order to prevent act of lawlessness and all infractions of the law, while the Commissioner of Police wishes you all a peaceful celebration,” the statement said.
