Kosofe leaders vow to support govt in curbing economic hardship

Leaders from the Kosofe Federal Constituency have agreed to lend their support to citizens within the constituency to cushion the effect of the biting economic hardship being faced by the people.

 

This is one of the outcomes of the stakeholders’ meeting convened on Thursday at the instance of the Lagos East Senatorial district GAC leader, Otunba Bushura Alebiosu.

 

Kosofe is one of the constituencies under the senatorial district.

 

The meeting held at the CMD road, also had Omooba Olumuyiwa Sosanya; another GAC leader and other leaders in attendance, where they all affirmed the need to support the state and federal government in alleviating the sufferings of the people in these difficult times.

 

They said there is need for everyone to lend their hand of support to the resident, and look beyond whatever the government would give to the people.

 

The Chairperson of Ikosi/Isheri LCDA, Mayoress Simiat Bolanle Bada, while speaking on behalf of all the three council chairmen in Kosofe, pledged their commitment to the welfare of the people.

She also expressed their loyalty and commitment to the leadership of the party, especially in Kosofe under Alebiosu and Sosanya; the two GAC leaders within the constituency.

 

In her words: “We’ll continue to look after the welfare of our people, that is the reason for our being in office. I also want to assure everyone here that we’re under the umbrella of the party, we only recognise our leaders seated here and the true and only leader, they are representing the party here, and on behalf of my brother chairmen, we shall continue to be loyal to them.”

Responding on behalf of the leaders, Otunba Alebiosu encouraged party members to keep faith with the leadership at the federal, state and local council levels.

 

He said the leaders are aware of the biting economic heat, and they are working to ameliorate it. He assured members that very soon, there will be relief from the federal, state and local government.

 

He said leaders will continue to support the government and political officeholders in alleviating the sufferings of the people, he said the leaders would not fold arms and allow the government to handle the burden alone, all well-to-do individuals will also lend their hand of support to the people.

Alebiosu also encouraged discountenance rumours going around about groups within the party, affirming that there is only one party, and that everyone belonged to the party.

 

Present at the meeting were; the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Yacoob Ekundayo Alebiosu; the two lawmakers representing Kosofe, Femi Saheed and Ganiyu Okanlanwon Sanni; chairman, Kosofe LGA, Moyo Ogunlewe; chairman Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Bolanle Bada; and chairman Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Dele Osinowo.

 

Others include; a former commissioner for Wealth Creation, Yetunde Arobieke; APC State Treasurer, Biodun Akhigbe, Assistant Secretary; Jumoke Animahun; Alade Aigoro; Toyin Balogun; Remi Odunsi; Afolabi Kazeem, among others.
