Voice Air Media, News Update

The Osun State Government has declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the recent land dispute-induced communal clashes between Ilobu and Ifọn-Osun communities

This measure, encompassing Orolu and Irepodun local government areas, is a direct effort to curb the escalating tensions and ensure public safety.

Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, announced the curfew, which will be in effect daily from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.

The government’s decision underscores its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region.

Alimi emphasized the seriousness of the curfew, stating that individuals found violating the curfew hours will face arrest and legal proceedings.

This stringent approach reflects the government’s resolve to quell the unrest and restore normalcy in the affected communities.

“The curfew takes effect from 8:00pm to 6:00am every day.

“Anyone caught wandering during the curfew period will be arrested and appropriately prosecuted,” he warned.
