Rampaging terrorists wreaking havoc in the beleaguered northwest region of Nigeria have attacked a military base in katsina state.

The terrorists attacked the joint military camp at Nahuta village in Batsari Local Government Area of the state around 11:30 pm on Sunday.

Vehicles and some valuables were destroyed during the onslaught but no life was lost.

The assailants were heavily armed with sophisticated weapons, including AK-47 rifles.

The source explained that the security personnel attached to the camp were able to fend off the attackers even though they were overwhelmed by the attackers.

“The bandits outweighed us and invaded the camp where they set ablaze our vehicles and property because there was no reinforcement throughout the encounter, ” he added.

The armed men, however, seized the moment to invade Nahuta town, burgling some shops, breaking into houses, and carting away properties and domestic animals worth millions of naira.
