Akeredolu’s death, Aiyedatiwa emergence as Governor, will of God – Ondo Tantita Commandant says

A community leader in Ondo State, Chief Idowu Asonja, has described the death of former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu and the emergence of Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the State Governor as the will of God.

Asonja, the Ondo State Commander of Tantita, the private security outfit saddled with the protection of oil pipelines in the State’s coastal areas, who prayed for the repose of the soul of Akeredolu, also congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his assumption of office as governor of the State.

In a statement on Thursday, which he personally signed, the security expert, expressed his deepest regret over the passage of the former governor, and conveyed his deep sympathy and condolences to the Akeredolu’s family, friends and associates.

His words: “The passage of Governor Akeredolu is a very devastating occurrence. Personally, I feel a personal sense of loss and pray that God will grant his soul enduring repose. I sympathise with the entire Akeredolu family and the entire state.”

While reiterating his conviction that Aiyedatiwa emergence as governor was divine, Asonja said; “even the late governor predicted it. We all saw a video of Governor Akeredolu saying that he will have to descend for Aiyedatiwa to ascend. Nothing can be more prophetic than that.”

He extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Aiyedatiwa, describing him as “a man who has what it takes to lead the state in a time like this.”

“I felicitate the new helmsman, Governor Aiyedatiwa, very heartily, and pray that God will enable him with requisite wisdom and strength to take the state to the next level.

“I know him as a man who is passionate about the progress of the state and has what it requires to lead the state in a time like this,” Asonja said.
