Adamawa Police Set to Command New Year’s Eve Scene with Domination in Crossover Activities

Ahead of activities for the annual cross over night to be held on Sunday 31st December, 2023 into the early hours of Monday 1st January, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command has announced a traffic diversion around the Great Interchange Flyover, Yola.

The interchange replaced what was formerly the Police Roundabout, located by the state Police headquarters in the state capital.

The traffic diversion is to make room to secure a new year entertainment rally scheduled for the vicinity.

The Adamawa State Police Command, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST Thursday morning advised traffic from Yola International Airport to Yola Town to divert from Fire Service Roundabout through Bekaji and Federal Secretariat, while those going to Numan Road from Dougirei are to follow Ribadu Square through Target Junction upward to Fire Service Roundabout.

The statement, signed by Police Public Relations Officer Suleiman Nguroje, stressed that the ‘Night of Entertainment and Waiting’ will take place at the Great Interchange & Flyover by the Police headquarters.

“To ensure effective policing within the period, the Command wishes to inform members of the public that there will be adequate security deployment around the city and emplacement of traffic diversions at strategic places around the event ground, which includes all sister security agencies.

“The Command is also advising the public to keep their vehicles away from the event area and not to panic when they see heavy police visibility as would be witnessed at the various traffic control points to aid the free flow of traffic,” he said.

The Command appealed to the public to cooperate with security agencies in their efforts to sustain order and peace around the state. CONTINUE READING…………………………
