THE Women for Justice group in Nasarawa State said that they have lost six of their members while participating in the ongoing protest against the Appeal Court verdict that quashed the victory of David Ombugadu.
The women protesters had over the weekend, converged to honor their fallen six heroines who laid down their lives in the struggle for justice in the ongoing legal battle to reclaim victory for Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18th election.
The chairman of the group, Mr. James Alu, while addressing the women said: “Today, we have decided to remember the sudden death of six of our heroines who started this struggle with us from March 19.
“It is sad they could not live to see the end of this struggle but they have paid the price as fallen heroines and we shall continue to remember their sacrifice in the struggle for justice.
“We salute their doggedness and courage. Some of them were sick and still with us, while others fell sick in the mist of the protest because of the rigor. They remained with us in the struggle until their death.”
Alu encouraged the women to keep on with the struggle assuring that God will not allow their patriotic sacrifices and pains be in vain. He noted that justice is costly but it’s worth it.
The six fallen heroines are; Halima Kasimu, from Daddere, Esther Bambita, from Gidinye.
Hellen Godiya, from Lafia, Danladi Makpa, from Mararaba Awayi Felicia Tsaku, Nasarawa Eggon.
In the same vein, many of the women shared their testimonies of pains and challenges since the inception of the protest.

Many testified that the struggle demanding for justice in the state has been tasking on them, ranging from insult, hunger, trekking, sickness and all the rigors involved.
Others narrated that they had to remain in the struggle because they can no longer visit their farms because of Fulani’s constant attack on them in their farms and fear of being rapped by the herders.
They alleged that they and their daughters have been victims of rape on many occasion. They expressed hope that justice will be done to their candidate David Ombugadu, whom they believe will end insecurity in the state.
Others lamented that they had miscarriages while embarking on the protest excercise. Many could not speak out but only shed tears because of what they had gone through while the struggle lasts.
The women however pledged to sustain the tempo of the protest without fear of intimidation, and strong hope in God and the judiciary to deliver true justice in coming days.
In her remarks, the state Women leader of the PDP, Mrs. Stella Oboshi commended the women for their courage and sacrifices for justice in the ongoing struggle.
Oboshi sympathized with the families of the fallen heroins and prayed to God for comfort.
She also charged the women to sustain the struggle with prayers to God to grant the supreme court judges the wisdom and courage to deliever judgement devoid of influences.
“We believe there are God fearing judges who still stand bold to deliver true judgement. Judges should remember that their is an ultimate Judge, God who will bring all of us before His throne of judgement one day to judge every secrete deeds.
Also in a closing remark, Mr. Keffas Tiga pleaded with women not to respond to all the insult rained on them by the ruling APC in the state.
Tiga urged them to remained focus in the struggle citing several women protests across the world which never went down in vain but with great impacts and results.
