The Lagos state police command has said it doesn’t have the autopsy report of the late street-pop singer and rapper Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
Mohbad died under mysterious circumstances on September 12. He was buried the following day.
On September 21, the body of the 27-year-old music star was exhumed by the police for autopsy.
Two months after the exhumation, however, the details of Mohbad’s autopsy results are yet to be made public.
Bella Shmurda, the singer, Tonto Dike, and Iyabo Ojo have asked the police to release Mohbad’s corpse and autopsy result.
Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, also previously lamented the delay in the release of his son’s autopsy result.
He said the delay is causing Mohbad’s remains “to suffer”.
However, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, told the Newsmen that they have not received the result officially.
“The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been carrying rumours that it is ready,” he said.
“It is one thing for it to be ready, it is another thing for it to be given to us officially – that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it.
“So, we do not work with rumours, we work with facts.”
On October 4, the police arraigned Naira Marley and Sam Larry before the Magistrate court in Yaba.
The arraignment was due to their alleged conflicts with Mohbad in the months preceding his death.
However, they were later released from custody on bail.
