Verbal Attack on Buhari: Hausa musicians apologize to former President, deny colleagues outburst

Following a verbal attack on former President Muhammadu Buhari by his Hausa Chief Musician, Dauda Kahuta Rarara, a Collection of Hausa musicians under the roof of One Voice Association have disassociated themselves from the attack and sought forgiveness from the former President.

Dauda Kahuta Rarara, a Chief Hausa musician of the former President, had, in a widely circulated video clip, verbally attacked Buhari, describing his government as a total failure which plunged Nigeria and Nigerians into severe socio-economic woes.

In the clips, Dauda Kahuta Rarara, said, “Three months of President Ahmad Bola Tinubu’s Government is far better than the whole of former President Buhari’s eight years because he has nothing to show that he has done for the country”.

However, in what they described as blatant lies and an open betrayal of trust and confidence, the One Voice Association told newsmen on Tuesday in Kano, that Dauda Kahuta Rarara was on his own with the opinions he expressed against the former president.

The Chairman of the One Voice Association, and also a Hausa musician, Ali Jitta, noted that they respect elders, especially in the course of their jobs.

He claimed it was not in their tradition, value or moral upbringing to attack leaders who have served the country diligently, adding that “no matter what, President Buhari has done his best for the country and like every human being has his shortcomings”.

The Vice Chairman of the association, Ado Isa Gwanja, said they were planning to visit Buhari in Daura to ask his forgiveness on what they termed a baseless outburst of Dauda Kahuta Rarara against him.

“And we are hereby disassociating ourselves from whatever Rarara said against Buharii, it is never in our habits and does not form the kind of people we are, because we are very respectful of our leaders and any other person that deserves respect”.

The spokesperson of the Association, Muhammad Birniwa appealed to Nigerians not to see them the way Dauda Kahuta Rarara portrayed as he does not represent their views, emotions and values.
