Details Emerge as Police Confirm Murder Of UNIPORT Student By Boyfriend

THE police in Rivers state have confirmed reports of the m¥rder of a 300 level student of the University of Port Harcourt, Justina Otuene, by Demain Okoligwe, a 400 level student of the same institution who is said to be her boyfriend.

Parading the suspect before newsmen today October 26, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka, said on Wednesday, October 25, at about 3.30pm, operatives of Ozuoba Division received a complaint from a good Samaritan and neighbor, name withheld, of Road 20, back of NTA Ozuoba that he went to his house where one Demain Okoligwe ‘m’ a fellow tenant resides and perceived a very bad odour and immediately rushed to the police station, where the DPO led detectives to the scene.

The police boss said the fleeing suspect and boyfriend of the deceased, Demain Okoligwe ‘m’ 24yrs old, a petrochemical engineering 400 level student of UNIPORT was arrested.

CP Emeka said the lifeless and butchered body of Justina Otuene, 20, a biochemistry 300-level student at Uniport, was recovered and deposited at the mortuary.

He mentioned that preliminary investigation is in progress and that the case has been transferred to SCID for discreet investigation. He condoled with the family of the deceased victim and urged young ladies to be cautious and careful about any person they involve themselves with in any form of relationship.
