No fewer than seven people lost their lives in a ghastly motor crash that occurred along the Osogbo-Gbongan highway in Osun State over the weekend.

The accident took place around Ogidi village near Sasa Bridge on Friday evening and involved 10 individuals who were occupants of the vehicle involved.

The accident, which was a single-vehicle incident, featured a private Nissan Sharon vehicle with the licence plate WW D574 AE.

The driver lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed on Friday at about 7:40 p.m., resulting in the deaths of seven people.

Addressing the incident, the Osun State Sector Commander, Mr Henry Benamaisia, explained that three of the deceased victims, who were Osun natives, were taken to Odeomu by their relatives.

At the same time, the remaining four were transported to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Osogbo by the FRSC rescue team.
