THE Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Bureau, Mr Ibrahim Akibu has been honoured by the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Osun State chapter as honest bureaucrat.
The dutiful Permanent Secretary was honoured by the senior citizens as a result of his commitment in making sure their welfare are not taken with levity by the current administration in Osun State.
The pensioners who gathered in his office at the State Secretariat described Mr Ibrahim as a man of many parts who doesn’t allow the euphoria of office to sway him away from doing what is right.
Presenting the award, the leadership of the union said they decided to honour the permanent secretary for his role in making sure their entitlements are paid as and when due without any delay.
“We are presenting this award for your role in making sure that our entitlements are paid timely. Your accessibility is second to none. We do not take this for granted.”
Responding, the permanent secretary appreciates the union for the award, he however promised to continue to work in their interest, noting that they have served the state meritoriously and they deserved to be taken care in their old age.
“I want to assure you, our fathers and mothers that the current administration under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke will not take your welfare for granted. You have served the State, you deserved to be treated with dignity”.
Recall, during this year International Day of The Elderly, held at St Marks Grammar School, Osogbo on Thursday, the Pensioners in the State conferred the award of the most pensioner friendly governor In Osun state on Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The entire body of senior citizens in Osun state under the umbrella of Nigeria Union of Pensioners( NUP) passes a vote of confidence on the Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
