Reality or Rumor? Dangote Speaks On Reducing Cement Price

VAM News Update

THE management of Dangote Cement Plc has debunked reports that the company has reduced the price of cement from N5,500 to N2,700 effective from October 1st.

Speaking with newsmen, Anthony Chiejina, Group Head, Corporate Communications, Dangote Group said the report was lie being spread by some people on social media in order to trend, generate traffic and make money.

He further urged members of the public to disregard any statement that did not originate from Dangote Group.

Also, Bashir Ahmad, the ex-presidential aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed this in a tweet on X on Sunday evening.

He said, “The Dangote Group has denied the trending reports that it has reduced the price of cement from N5500 to N2700 effective October 1st.”

However, when our correspondent checked the website of Dangote Cement to verify the news, it was revealed that no reduction has been made for the cement price.
