A 42-year-old man, Dele Agboola, has been shot dead by some yet-to-be-identified assailants in Ada, Osun State.
Agboola, it was learnt was shot dead on Thursday around 8:40pm, by three men disguised as customers who wanted to purchase medicine at the shop of his wife’s shop located in Pako Area.
A resident of Pako Area, Ada, identified simply as Temitayo, who spoke to our correspondent on Friday said the assailants were believed to be three in number and arrived when the deceased had even left the shop and went inside his residence.
“But a few minutes after he retired inside, Dele (Agboola) came out into the shop again to pick up his mobile phone charger. He was about to leave the shop again when three men approached him and asked if he was Dele Agboola, and he told them he was the person bearing the name.
“Immediately he confirmed his identity, the men shot him. Those that attacked him were three in number. They fled the area and people ran in different directions to avoid being attacked. The incident happened around 8:40pm Thursday at Pako Area.
“Relations of the deceased prevented security operatives from taking away his remains for autopsy. He was buried Friday around 8:30am,” Temitayo said.
Contacted for confirmation, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kehinde Adeleke, said the incident was reported to the command.
She further said, Mr Dele Agboola, resident of Ada town popularly known as ‘AGBO’ was shot dead by unknown person(s) at about 20:40 hours on 14th September, 2023.
