Osun Monarch Narrowly Escape Assassination

Oba Abideen Adeyemi, the Alamo of Ayegbaju Ijesa and a monarch of Osun State, narrowly evaded an assassination attempt on Saturday in Ilesa.

Unidentified gunmen opened fire on Oba Adeyemi and his driver in Ilesa town, according to an anonymous source.

Following his 18th coronation anniversary celebration in the historic town of Saturday, The Alamo was purportedly assaulted by the shooters.

He was reportedly shot, according to information.

The source also disclosed that the monarch and his driver were rescued and rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

Reacting to the news of the shooting, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, said the incident is being investigated.

Opalola assured that the culprits would be brought to book.
