RE: 300 Days in Office: Gov Oyebanji’s Tenure A Spectacle of Inadequacy with No Tangible Impact on Citizens – Ekiti PDP

Ekiti state Government led by H.E Biodun Abayomi has not only been beneficial to the state and its people, but also contradicts the claims made by the “People’s Democratic Party” of the state.

As the saying goes, “Rome was not built in a day,” and while the governor can’t address all the state’s needs instantly, he continues to make progress each day. In his first 300 days in office, Governor Oyebanji achieved notable milestones. State civil servants’ salaries remain up to date, road mentaince are been done regularly, previously unpaid gratuities were addressed, and various segments of the population, including pensioners, traditional rulers, students, and people with special needs, received attention.

A recent example of his commitment is providing palliatives after the subsidy removal, alongside offering shuttle buses to students and civil servants for easier transportation. These accomplishments showcase his dedication.

Contrary to the assertions made by the People’s Democratic Party, the Governor has not neglected any ongoing projects; instead, he is dedicated to ensuring the successful completion of all initiatives, each serving its intended purpose effectively.

The Governor has been actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at boosting the state’s Internal Revenue Generation (IGR).

His efforts have centered around attracting potential investors and cultivating an environment in Ekiti that is both appealing and advantageous for investment. Through these endeavors, it is anticipated that a diverse range of investors will be drawn to the state, leading to increased economic activity and investment in the near future.

It’s important that the People’s Democratic Party refrains from tarnishing the governor’s accomplishments and reputation. Governor Oyebanji consistently advocates for peace, as demonstrated by his visit to the home of former state governor Ayodele Fayose, a member of the opposition party. During this visit, he stressed the unity of the state and the need for communal harmony to benefit everyone.

Governor Abiodun Oyebanji has positioned Ekiti as a land with honor and integrity. This is evident from the absence of any negative remarks about his character and governance from respected political analysts in the nation. Instead, they have warmly embraced and endorsed his leadership style. Such a reception could only arise if the Governor was truly excelling in his governance endeavors.

The Governor’s widespread approval among Ekiti residents, irrespective of political, religious, or age differences, has become a source of concern for the minority PDP caucus. Their efforts to criticize the Governor stem from their discomfort with his extensive popularity, which is completely understandable.

The People’s Democratic Party must cease their unwarranted criticisms and unsubstantiated claims against Governor Abiodun Abayomi and his administration. Instead of directing their efforts towards baseless attacks, the party should prioritize addressing their internal conflicts and concerns. Furthermore, they should strategize on revitalizing their party, which is currently on the brink of decline within the state. This could involve focusing on resolving their internal issues and working towards reinstating their standing in preparation for the upcoming local government election. This approach would align them with their counterparts in other states who are actively engaging in similar efforts to gauge their popularity and relevance.
