THE Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, governor, has unveiled his commissioner-nominees.
In July, AbdulRazaq had sent a list of commissioner-nominees to the state house of assembly for confirmation.
The governor’s list, which was read out on Monday by Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, speaker of the state house of assembly, had eight women and 10 men.
Abdulrazaq also retained four ex-cabinet members as part of his new administration.
In 2021, the governor gave assent to a gender inclusion bill in Kwara, making it possible for the state to have at least 35 percent women appointees in the executive council and other classes of political appointments.
Abdulrazaq’s new cabinet list is made up of 44.4% women.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, also included 30 percent of women and youths in his 39-member cabinet.
However, President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list only has 19 percent of women.
Here is a full list of the Kwara governor’s new commissioner nominees.
