Two residents of Osogbo, Osun State, suspected of stealing a motorcycle were arrested in the Olugun Area of the community on Saturday, Punch reports.
The suspects, whose names were given as Samad and Habeeb, having successfully stolen the motorcycle, were caught dismantling it in Olugun Area by some hunters.
According to report, some residents, who became suspicious of the two men, alerted some local hunters within the neighborhood, who moved to the scene and arrested the suspects.
A resident who craved anonymity said, “Samad is 27 years and his accomplice, Habeeb is a 23-year-old man. They stole the motorcycle but we can’t say specifically where they stole it.
“But on Saturday, we saw them dismantling it. They had a sack with them and they were packing the parts of the motorcycle into the sack as they dismantled it.
“Some residents became suspicious and alerted some local hunters living close to the neighborhood. They came to the scene immediately and arrested the two suspects. They were handed over to the police.”
The Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, on Sunday promised to contact the Division covering the community where the suspects were arrested for details.
