‘My Dad Unhappy’, Asisat Oshoala Breaks Silence On Controversial Goal Celebration in Nigeria’s 3 -2 victory against Australia

Nigeria striker, Asisat Oshoala has revealed that her father is not happy with her choice of celebration after she netted the Super Falcons’ third goal in their 3 – 2 win against Australia at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Barcelona forward capitalised on a mistake made by the Australian defence before slotting home for her side’s third as Nigeria fought for victory in their second game. Oshoala, who is a Muslim celebrated her goal in style by taking off her shirt to reveal her sports bra.

While some Muslims felt it was against their religion for her to act in such a manner, she has also taken to Instagram to disclose that her father is not happy with her. However, the striker defended her action by stating that “Life is a collection of moments.”

Sharing images from her celebration, the striker wrote: “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, Life is a collection of MOMENTS.#Alhamdulilah #Grateful #Moments”
