VAM News Update

ONE Mrs Eniola Adedeji and her eight months old son kidnapped on Saturday were reportedly released by their abductors on Sunday.

The mother and son were reportedly abducted in the Ota Efun area of Osogbo Saturday evening by some unknown people, said to be carrying arms.

Meanwhile, the kidnappers called the husband, a staff of the state broadcasting station, OSBC, using the wife’s phone.

According to family sources, they were released Sunday evening in Ikirun by their abductors.

It was learnt that after the incident was reported at the state Police Command, the mobile phone of the victim was tracked to Ikirun, another town in the state by the operatives.

“But before police could move in, the perpetrators had abandoned the victims and fled. But the woman and the son have been reunited with her husband,” a top security source who pleaded anonymity told Punch.

According to the publication, the husband of the victim, Isaac Adedeji, confirmed the release.

Adedeji simply said, “They have been released. But I can’t give you the details now, please.”
