Two toddlers hit by stray bullets from NDLEA Officers in Asaba— Report

Some NDLEA officers are facing accusations of shooting two brothers while carrying out a raid in Asaba.

 

 

As the NDLEA officers fled the scene, the father of the young toddlers in a viral video embarked on a determined pursuit on the road, chasing after their vehicle.

 

 

Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, provided exclusive details regarding the sad event that unfolded.

 

 

 

During a raid conducted by NDLEA officers on Thursday, July 14, two toddlers were tragically struck by stray bullets.

 

 

 

According to reports, the two brothers were shot while they were inside their mother’s shop, during a crossfire between NDLEA officers and criminals.

 

 

 

Despite the mother’s swift actions in rushing them to the Federal Medical Center in Asaba, it is deeply unfortunate that the older brother did not survive.

 

 

 

Tragically, two-year-old Ivan passed away at the hospital, while his younger brother, who is just over a year old, remains hospitalized.

 

 

The father of the children confronted the NDLEA officers, who promptly entered their vehicles and fled from the scene.

 

 

Human Rights activists Harrison Gwamnishu, took to his social media page, shared video of the kid’s father tearfully embarking on a determined pursuit on the road, chasing after NDLEA vehicle.

 

 

Harrison noted that his team is actively monitoring the case and expressed gratitude towards the Delta State Commissioner of Police for assuring him and the grieving family of a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

 

 

He wrote;

“Our team led by Peter Ejemazu is currently following up on the case and thanks to Delta State Commissioner of Police who has assured us that thorough investigation will be carried out.”

 

 

In other news, the family of a young lady has accused a popular restaurant in Lagos of withholding the corpse of their daughter after she slumped and died at work.

 

 

According to the family, their daughter passed away while on duty at the restaurant, but they allege that the establishment has refused to release her body to them.
