VOICE AIR MEDIA News Update
An emerging report confirmed that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been named the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
A report by Daily Independent confirmed that this development would make Gbajabialmila’s seat in the lower legislative chamber vacant, automatically removing him as a member of the incoming 10th National Assembly.
VOICE AIR MEDIA gathered that President Bola Tinubu is yet to issue an official statement on the appointment since his resumption in office.
Gbajabiamila was elected for a 6th term at the lower chamber during the general election as the lawmaker representing Surulere Federal Constituency of Lagos State.
As reported by PMNews, a statement posted by his Chief of Staff, Olanrewaju Smart Wasiu on his official Facebook page on Thursday morning reads:
“After several hours of meetings and consultations, President Bola Tinubu has made his first appointment, picking the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as the president’s Chief of Staff.”

Meanwhile, Wasiu on another Facebook debunked the report noting that there was no such thing on the table.
He wrote:
“Fake news is a monster that must be curbed. Kindly ignore any fake news quoting this account for posting about any political appointment. Nothing of such was ever posted here.”
In the buildup to the inauguration of President Tinubu, there have been a series of media reports tipping the Lagos state lawmaker as the man in pole position for the coveted post.
However, there are no statements from President Tinubu or the presidency to solidify these claims further.
