Tension In Akure As Soldier Stabs Man

Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a serving soldier with the Nigerian Army, Tope Kazeem, for allegedly stabbing one Bunmi Omodele in Akure, the state capital, following a misunderstanding.

Kazeem was said to have attacked the victim, Bummi Omodele and stabbed him severally in the back and some other parts of the body during the fight.

An eyewitness explained that the victim, Omodele had a disagreement with the Kazeem’s friend, Azeez Ayomide in Adilewa area, off Oyemekun Road, Akure which led to a fight between them and the military officer had to intervene.

He said the soldier joined hands with his friend to protect his friend from being beaten and stabbed Omodele severally.

He explained that the victim was quickly rushed to the hospital where he was treated and admitted.

The soldier was apprehended and dragged to police station where he was detained.

Speaking on the development, the State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Funmi Odunlami, who confirmed that soldier has been arrested and questioned by police custody.

Odunlami, however, promised to give the details of the incident as the case has been transferred to the state Police headquarters.
