40-year-old man arrested in Osun with vehicle stolen from Anambra

THE Nigeria Police, Osun Command has revealed that a 40-year-old car thief identified as Oladipupo Moruf is cooling his heels in detention.

Moruf’s arrest was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police, Patrick Kehinde Longe to journalists on Thursday in Osogbo.

In a statement made available by the Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, Longe revealed that the suspect had stolen a black Lexus jeep belonging to one Igwe Odinaka in Obosi, Idemili South local government area of Anambra State.

According to the Osun Police boss, the suspect was nabbed with the car in Ilesa.

“The owner of the vehicle was shot in the stomach when his car was stolen from him.

“The suspect was apprehended upon credible intelligence received that the vehicle was seen along Ijebu-Jesa road.

“The policemen attached to ‘A’ Division, Ilesa on patrol intercepted the vehicle driven by Oladipupo.

“The suspect was arrested and the vehicle taken to the station for further investigation.”

Longe disclosed that the suspect will be charged to court immediately investigations into the matter are concluded.
