Bayelsa 2023: Adeleke to head PDP governorship primary

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has been appointed as Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party governorship primary in Bayelsa State.

According to a statement by the National Organising Secretary of the Party, Umar Bature, the primary is scheduled to hold on Wednesday April 12, 2023.

The statement reads, “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, has approved the nomination of the following stakeholders to serve on the Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Primary Electoral Committee to conduct the Primary Election for the purpose of nominating the candidate of our great Party for the upcoming 2023 Gubernatorial Elections in the State.

“The exercise is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 2023 at the State Capital, Yenagoa.”

Other members of the committee are Dr Mrs Oby Nwogu, Hon. Gabriel Onyewife, Hon. Mrs Saratu Hamman, Alh. Gurama Bawa and Mrs Farida Umar while Hon. Sunday Katung will serve as the Secretary.

Bature added that in pursuant to its commitment of free, fair and transparent elections, the NWC hereby formally releases the approved List of Delegates for the Bayelsa 2023 Governorship Primary Election.

Governor Douye Diri, who is seeking reelection, was appointed the Chairman of the PDP primaries that produced Adeleke as candidate in Osun last year. He was however absent but his Deputy, Lawrence Ehrukjakpo stood in for him.
