Olusola Oke to Christians: We Should Not Ignore Lessons of Easter

VOICE AIR MEDIA News Update

Olusola Oke has celebrated with the Christians on Easter day, 2023.

Below is the statement obtained by VOICE AIR MEDIA.

I felicitate Christians in Ondo state and Nigeria, on this year’s commemoration of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. No doubt, Easter signifies the imperatives of the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer, particularly the accentuation of His out-of-this-world sacrifice and love for humanity.

To this end, Easter is a very important event in Christendom, and we must joyfully celebrate it. Beyond this, Easter should not be reduced to mere eating and drinking. It should be a day to praise God and thank Him for His great wisdom for the Gift of Jesus for our salvation.

While celebrating, therefore, I urge all of us not to gloss over the essence and lessons of the love, sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The resurrection of our Saviour signifies victory, hope and redemption, which are required virtues we need to confront challenges and triumph over negative situations we find ourselves, assured of victory and redemption.

I believe the best way to reciprocate the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ is by showing love and making sacrifices for one another. This is a period in our national life that we need to genuinely love our dear country and state, by loving one another. It is through this bond that our dear country and state can achieve the greatness, growth and development we have been yearning for.

Genuine patriotism lies in making sacrifices for the country and the state. Therefore, let us do whatever we can to make Nigeria and Ondo state great. We must not stop praying for our country and state.

Perseverance, obedience and humaneness are other virtues that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has taught us. We must imbibe them and turn them to principles that will guide our lives always, as we seek a better and greater state and nation.

Happy Easter to you all!

Chief Olusola Oke, SAN.
