Ekiti: Chairperson Ajoni LCDA, Olori Olawumi Ogungbemi Distributes Food Supplement To Malnourished Children

In her resolve to reduce child mortality rate and ensure good livelihood for nursing mother and children across Ajoni communities, Chairperson of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, Olori Christianah Olayinka Ogungbemi in partnership with an American based international Non Governmental Organisation Bountiful Children’s Foundation, BCF, has again demonstrated her goodwill, kindheartedness and benevolence by providing additional nutritional food supplements rich 8n macronutrient to children focusing on the first 1,000 days of life.

It will be recalled, this programme was flagged off at the Local Council Development Area Secretariat by the office of the Chairperson, Ajoni LCDA in conjunction with the Chairman Prince Michael Ogungbemi and Bountiful Children’s Foundation (BCF) Nigerian country representative, Bamitale Oladumiye who declares that BCF will be giving out these free food supplements for the next six (6) months to all the malnourished nursing mother and child across Ajoni communities.

The first phase of the programme which had over 400 participants from Oke Ayedun, Odo Ayedun, Esun and Ayebode children and their mother’s in attendance.

In the same vein, first phase of the programme for the good people of Itapaji and Iyemero Ekiti was held, it was amazing, hundreds of nursing mothers and children benefitted in conformity with the World Health Organization (WHO) framework and thereafter given the food supplements at no cost to their parents and this macronutrient food supplement shall be sustained for the next six months.

In her remark, the Chairperson noted that the programme is aimed at providing nutritional supplementation to malnourished children and pregnant/nursing mothers, promoting healthy children in each Families, Socities and Nation at large.

The mothers of the children expressed an heartfelt gratitude as this efforts of the Chairperson is the first of it’s kind in Ekiti State and saluted the Chairperson for being so magnanimous and humane and promise to always support her initiatives in bringing succour to the women.

This laudable initiative is a deliberate attempt aimed at improving the formatives days of the children with a good start-up in their brain formation which enhances adequate, cognitive and critical thinking.

All these are made possible by the ever hard working Chairman for providing an enabling environment for the office of the Chairperson to deliver optimally in her office as the first lady to extends opportunities at the grassroots and Ajoni suburbs.
