“A father figure has gone” – Hon Yomi Oso Mourns Baba Egbeyemi

THE Executive Chairman,Ado North Local Development Council Area,Hon Yomi Oso, has mourned the past immediate Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, who passed on at age,79 on Friday,17th March,2023, after a brief illness.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, YOMI OSO, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, expressed his deep sense of loss of the great man and on behalf of the management and staff of Ado North LCDA, condole with the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Abiodun Oyebanji, His Imperial Majesty, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti,Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, the Ewi-in- Council and the entire sons and daughters of Ekiti State in general and Ado Ekiti in particular on the demise of our illustrious father and son.

The Local Government helmsman described Otunba Egbeyemi as a father figure, a distinguished leader, an astute politician and an elderstatesman, hailed his glowing contributions to the development of Ekiti State and Ado Ekiti.

Hon. Oso recalled Baba Egbeyemi’s diligent service to humanity in varied fields of life transversing glorious careers as a Teacher, a Barrister and a Politician. These took him to the Classrooms, Court Halls and Political Offices. Otunba Egbeyemi, served as House of Assembly Member in the Old Ondo State(Oct-Dec.,1983), Executive Chairman of Ado-Ekiti Local Government ,when he constructed the popular Bisi Market among other landmark achievements(1991-1993 and the past immediate Deputy Governor of Ekiti State(2018-2022).

Hon Oso said he was bold to mention Baba Egbeyemi as his political father and mentor praised him for his support for the creation of LCDAs in the State and also in ensuring their development, concluded in his words- “Baba Egbeyemi had come, seeing and conquered,had ran a good race,left indelible signs on the sands of time,written his name in gold and will be sorely missed but legends don’t die”

He extends his heartfelt condolence to Baba’s wife,Mama Olufunke,his children and grandchildren and pray to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of a great colossus., The statement reads.
