Casualties Recorded As Train Crushes BRT Bus With Workers Onboard

A train has collided with a passenger bus in the PwD/Shogunle area of Ikeja, in Lagos State.

The incident took place on Thursday morning, March 9th.

Witnesses at the scene said the bus was attempting to cross the rail track when an oncoming train rammed into it.

The train reportedly dragged the bus from Shogunle to the PWD area of Ikeja.

Several passengers are feared dead, scores injured following the impact of the collision.

Some of the witnesses said the bus was conveying staff of the Lagos state government.

Lagos State Traffic Management Agency confirmed there were casualties and efforts were on to rescue victims to the nearest hospital.

When contacted, the emergency team, including the police and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agencies (LASEMA), said they were making their way to the accident scene as at the time of filling in this report.
