Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, has appointed retired Army Captain Benedict Olusoji Akanni as the new Field Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps.
Captain Akanni’s appointment follows the resignation of Amitolu Shittu, the security outfit’s first Field Commander.
On January 20, 2023, Shittu announced his resignation in an open letter.
According to Yussuf Idowu, the Spokesperson for Osun Amotekun, the appointment takes effect immediately.
