More Details Emerge On Osun State Valentine’s Day Celebration

Osun Civil Service Union, not Governor Adeleke, is Celebrating Valentine’s Day

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke is not celebrating Valentine’s Day as wrongly and falsely published in some media platforms and blogs.

Rather, it is the Osun State Civil Service Union in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service that is hosting the annual Valentine’s Day event, an annual gathering that has been on for the past four years.

The event was regularly held under the previous administration and as such the Civil Service Union is only continuing a tradition that predates the Administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Union only invites Governor Adeleke as a Special Guest of Honor in appreciation of his landmark support and attention to the welfare and aspirations of the public bureaucracy.

The invitation was earned and merited based on Governor Adeleke’s bold action that has resolved the half salary debacle in the state bureaucracy and his commendable initiatives to tackle pension and deductions issues within the state civil service.

It is therefore unfair and prejudice to publish that the Governor is organizing a Valentine’s Day programme. The civil service is only engaging in a routine annual event which had been hosted in the last four years.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the Executive Governor
