2023 Elections: How Idanre PDP Twisted Peace Accord Penned By Reps Candidates

VOICE AIR MEDIA News Update

Federal lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has denied apologizing to Hon. Festus Akingbaso because the claim of assassination attempt on his life was false.

Adefisoye, who is popularly known as Small Alhaji told journalists in Akure on Thursday that the loud emphasis on apology to Fessy West was manufactured by those in the PDP camp for the purpose of scoring cheap political points.

The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army confirmed that what transpired on Tuesday in Idanre was simply the signing of a peace accord and nothing more.

Adefisoye also said that the revered paramount ruler of Idanre truly conveyed a peace accord meeting on Tuesday between him and Hon. Festus Akingbaso. He added that the meeting was meant to douse tension and ensure that lasting peace returns to Idanre town.

Adefisoye further said that the revered Idanre monarch demanded during the meeting that all litigations instituted in court by him and Akingbaso concerning the defamation claim should be withdrawn forthwith and this was agreed to by both parties.

According to the federal lawmaker,
what transpired at the palace of Owa was simply a peace accord signing and not apology of any sort.

“It is true that our highly respected kabiyesi in Idanre conveyed a peace accord meeting on Tuesday. Essence of the meeting was to ensure that the aggravated political tension in Idanre is doused.

“The kabiyesi appealed to myself and Fessy West to give lasting peace a chance during the meeting that had in attendance the Ondo State police commissioner.

“Shortly after the peace accord was signed, we embraced ourselves and also threw banters that elicited laughter”.

Meanwhile, Adefisoye has expressed his utter disappointment with the way the banters he exchanged with Fessy West was mischievously taken for an apology.

“Let me make it clear that I only exchanged banters with Fessy West
and there was no time that I apologized for making wrong claim of assassination attempt on my life. Of a truth, an attempt was made on my life and the case is still being investigated by the police.

“It should also be noted that I truly desire lasting peace in Idanre. I was readily disposed to signing the peace accord because of my utmost respect for our revered kabiyesi and due to the unflinching love for my good people in Idanre”, Adefisoye concluded.
