Chairman Nduharry Global Resources Nigeria Limited and a political leader in the zone, Hon. Prince Kingsley Chukwuebuka Uwanuakwa has expressed dismay over the poor security situation and terrible road infrastructure in the zone, precisely in Ndimoko Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to the business mogul, the leadership of President Buhari promised to fight insecurity to standstill, but recent happenings in Ideato North of Imo State has sent many people to untimely death.
Recalling the spate of insecurity in the area, Uwanuakwa narrated how less than a week ago, unknown gunmen invaded the home of a PDP House of Representative candidate in the zone, Barrister Ikenga Ugochinyere, burnt his house, killed his uncle set ablaze vehicles worth of millions of naira.
He also said “Just this morning, the same political unknown gunmen attacked the incumbent Ideato North Local Government boss, Mr. Christopher Ohizu Hardway’s country home at Ndimoko Arondizuogu, burnt down his house, kidnapped him and his aides, Mazi Ejituru and Akubugbo and finally went away with his official vehicle and a Sienna bus belonging to him. Till this moment, nobody knows their whereabouts.
“How can we participate in the forthcoming national elections considering the life-threatening situation here? I want to call on the Federal Government to intervene by calling all the security agencies in Imo State to relocate to the zone and bring law and order.
“I also call on the Inspector General of Police to kindly have all hands on deck to rescue the kidnapped victims and to do something to stop this ugly trend in Ideato North and restore peace and stability in the Local Government”, Uwanuakwa stated.
