Suspected assailant arrested over attack on Ondo Reps Member, Adefisoye

Men of the Ondo State police command on Wednesday arrested a suspected assailants in connection with assassination attempt on the life Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye.

The suspected assailant was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday at Idanre through a combined efforts of the police and youths of the town.

The suspected, Mr Olanrewaju, who is popularly known as ‘Engineer’ has since been transferred to the police Special Investigation Branch (SIB) in Akure.

The suspect, Engineer’ was also described by some youths in Idanre as a very notorious and deadly hired assassin.

However, a police source who pleaded anonymity said the suspected assailant has already made useful confessional statement that will really help the police investigators to make a speedy conclusive investigation on the attack on Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye.

More so, the police source also added that the suspect, ‘Engineer’ would be paraded and charged to court as soon investigations are concluded on the case.

Meanwhile, Hon. Adefisoye has commended the men of Ondo State police command for a swift investigation which has led to the arrest of one of the assailants that
made daring attempt to cut short his life.

Adefisoye further said that the the National Assembly would be very much interested in the case. He also said that the leadership of Nigerian National Assembly would want all the assailants as well as their sponsors promptly arrested and prosecuted.

“I am truly glad that one of the assassins has been arrested and I must give kudos to the police. The speed of the investigation which led to the arrest is most commendable. I have also briefed the National Assembly leadership on the latest arrest and I can confirm to you that they are very much interested in the case.

The National assembly leadership wants to see the remaining assailants and their sponsors arrested for prompt prosecution”, Adefisoye declared.
