Albasu Kunini, speaker of the Taraba state house of assembly, has resigned from his position.

Kunini was elected speaker of the state house of assembly in December 2019.

His election followed the resignation of Peter Diah, the former speaker.

Kizito Bonzena, member representing Zing state constituency, was thereafter unanimously elected as the new speaker.

Bonzena was the chief whip of the house before he was elected.
