THE Adulmajid Yakubu Daudu-led faction of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) yesterday announced an alliance with the Omoyele Sowore’s African Action Congress (AAC) ahead of 2023 general elections.

Daudu who was initially the interim national chairman of the party announced the breakaway in a briefing with journalists in Abuja.

He said the party had been taken over by the “reactionary leaders.”

He added the move was in the interest of Nigerians and a beginning of the process to mobilise the masses towards their political emancipation come 2023 general elections.

According to him, the alliance with the ACC was necessary to join forces to give Nigerians an option ahead of the elections and to wrestle power from “reactionary leaders” whom he said have held Nigerians in hostage of poverty for the past 62 years of independence.

Daudu called on Nigerians to unite behind their struggles to secure their rights to a better Nigeria and liberation from political slavery.
