Three wounded, driver dead as Gov Makinde convoy involves in accident

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State’s convoy was involved in an accident, and one of the vehicles’ drivers was killed in a collision.

When the governor was traveling back to Ibadan from Saki, where he had gone to attend a town hall meeting with PDP members ahead of his reelection campaign, three other people in the convoy also sustained injuries.

Ramon Mustapha, the driver, reportedly died instantly after being thrown from his car as it finally came to rest after bouncing around several times.

Another source said the late driver smashed his head in the unfortunate accident.

According to a source, the situation could have been saved had the driver used his seat belt.

Late Mustapha has been buried at his Amuloko, Ibadan residence on Wednesday, in accordance with Islamic rites.

As of the time of publishing this report, the Oyo State government is yet to react to this incident.
