Honorable Jacob Olufunmi Ogunmola, the Accord Party’s House of Representatives candidate for Saki East, Saki West, And Atisbo Federal Constituency of Oyo State has reportedly died.
His death was confirmed on Monday morning.
Jacob was born to the great family of Ogunmola in the ancient town of Ago-Are in Oke-Ogun Zone of Oyo-State.
The young Jacob Funmi Ogunmola had both his primary and secondary education in Ago-Are, before proceeding to the then St. Andrew’s College of Education, now, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, in the ancient city of Oyo Alaafin in the state.
His passion for education took him to Ogun-State University where he bagged Bsc. Accounting.
In his quest for more advanced knowledge, Funmi Ogunmola headed to Lagos State University (LASU) for his post graduate course, (MBA).
While at various institutions of higher learning, among sensitive positions he occupied were Internal Auditor and General Secretary of the Student’s Union at the then St. Andrews’s College, Oyo, and President of the Student Union at Ogun State University. And also, he was the President of the MBA program, at LASU.
His contributions to the various campus associations had no equal. He donated a 100KVA generator to the school on behalf of the MBA Students and facilitated other laudable projects to the citadels of learning.
Dr Funmi Ogunmola has been chairman of Beckley Estate Landlords/Residents Association in Lagos.
He was the Chairman of, the Welfare Committee and President of, the Men Fellowship at Redeemed Christian Church of God where he attends.
Between November 2012 till May 2015, he touched several lives of his people positively and empowered many as the Chairman of, Transition Committee, ATISBO Local Government Area of the state.
Dr Jacob ‘Funmi Ogunmola is the founder of Ogunmola Foundation which has been empowering the people of Oke Ogun for the past fifteen years.
He was conferred with the Honourary Doctorate Degree of Public Administration by the University of Business Technology, USA, in recognition of his immense contributions to business and education.
Also, the institute of Business Technology Management of Nigeria consolidated that and awarded him professional designation of Fellow Certified Institute Management(FCIM) in recognition of his management career, leadership qualities, and countless services to humanity.
