Just In: Gunmen kidnap 85-year-old grandmother while praying in Kogi

Gunmen have kidnapped an 85 years old grandmother, Hajia Habiba Isah, while observing her evening (Ishai) prayers at Ajakolia, Abocho in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State.

One of the children, who have been pleading for her release, said: “On that faithful Tuesday night, Hajia was said to have performed her ablution and completed her night ‘Ishai’ prayer around 8:25pm.

“According to an eyewitness, two young men emerged with bike and met her in her room.

“After exchanging pleasantries, they introduced themselves as her son’s errand boys who work for him in one of his ongoing housing projects in Lokoja, claiming that his son sent them to bring her to a neigbouring village.

“They deceived her, saying their boss did not want anybody to know that she was around the neibhouring village, assuring her that they would return her to her village.

“Hajia was eventually taken away, but with six others kidnapped.”

The Kogi State Police spokesperson, SP William Aya,could not be reached to comment to the incident as calls and messages (SMS) sent to him were not responded to as at the time of filling this report. CONTINUE READING…………………………
