Tragedy as Over 20 children killed after ex-policeman opens fire on Thailand daycare centre

At least, 30 children and teachers were killed on Thursday during a mass shooting in a nursery school in Thailand.

The incident, which occurred in Na Klang district in Nong Bua Lamphu province of the Asian country, also left about 12 persons injured.

The 34-year-old suspect, identified as Panya Kamrab, was reportedly discharged from the police service over drug-related offences.

He was said to have entered the Child Development Center around lunchtime, shooting and stabbing the victims.

Twenty-eight children, some as young as two years old, were said to be among the casualties.

According to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), the assailant killed his wife and child before committing suicide after the attack.

Thailand witnessed its last mass shooting in 2020 when a soldier killed at least 29 people and injured another 60 at a shopping mall.
