Osun LG Poll: Iwo APC Elects Yakub Atanda through Primary

Following the Party directive to hold primary elections in all local governments in the state of Osun today, Saturday, 17 2022.

The progressive party members turn out en mass to show their support and elect their flag bearers for the forthcoming Local Government Election slated to hold in October.

In Iwo Local Government, the party faithfuls in the six wards of the local government queued behind the poster of the two major aspirants where the youngest aspirants, Ogbeni Yakubu Atanda pulled the highest number of votes.

During the process, Mr. Remi Ojeniran, and two other aspirants stepped down and openly declare their support for Yakubu.

In a statement, Ojeniran said “I’m a contender in this race, but today I officially step down for my brother.” He deserves our support; we must all band together to protect him from the selfish leaders who don’t want progress for our party and the Iwoland.

The other two aspirants, Kazeem Asifat and Isiaka Babajide said they have sent their withdrawal letters to the party leaders at the state secretariat.
