Iyorchia Ayu embattled PDP chairman jets out of Nigeria- Report

Embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has travelled out of Nigeria, despite the unresolved crisis over his position.

 

Ayu’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications Simon Imobo-Tswam, said the Chairman will be out of the country till the end of the month.

 

While he is away, Deputy Chairman (North) of the party, Umar Iliya Damagun will keep forte.

 

The reasons for the journey and Ayu’s foreign destination were not made known by his media aide.

 

Ayu is facing mounting pressure from a strong section of the party to quit.

 

According to the group led by Rivers governor Nyesom Wike, Ayu’s position can no longer be justified after the party picked fellow northerner Atiku Abubakar as presidential flag bearer.
