The Kogi State Ministry of Education has commenced teacher recruitment to address the shortfall in the state schools.

The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones, who opened the aptitude test for the shortlisted candidates at the Kogi State Polytechnic CBT centre eulogised the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for making education a top priority project.

The Commissioner said the previous administration had dodged that responsibility, and stressed that the governor’s love for education, necessitated his directives to engage teachers.

“The state is resolved to employing qualified teachers that will serve as the bedrock for sustainable education as envisioned by the present administration.”

He urged the candidates to put up their best assuring that the merit principle would determine the successful candidates.
