Ogun youths declare support for Dapo Abiodun: 2023

Youths in Ogun State under the aegis of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have declared their total support for the second-term ambition of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The youths noted that building economic development can only be achieved through political stability.

The president of the NYCN in the state, Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe, gave this position while speaking on behalf of members of the council, on Tuesday, during a courtesy visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun, in Abeokuta.

He expressed the delight of his members over the developmental strides of the governor in the state.

“When the time to vote comes, we will speak with our votes. Building economic development through political stability is important, because when there is political stability, there will be economic development. So, Your Excellency, be rest assured of the support of the youth of Ogun State in their large numbers,” he said.

Ayelaagbe, while noting that Governor Abiodun has changed the narrative behind governance by adding a human face to administration, noted that the state helmsman has also shown that governance isn’t about talking and boasting about what can’t be achieved.

“Your Excellency, you are leading us rightly. You have reorientated our thinking from what government and administration should be. You have demonstrated that leadership, governance and administration is not by boasting alone, you have demonstrated that there is human face to administration. So, we are learning that from you, we sincerely appreciate the way and manner you are leading us in Ogun State,” the youth leader stressed.

He promised that the achievements of the Abiodun-led administration would be well disseminated to the grassroots, churches, mosques, and communities.

He added that “youths in the state consider themselves part of the present administration and we are ready to use our structure to evangelize to the people of the state the activities and success of the present administration”.

Ayelaagbe who expressed his delight at the construction of the Agro Cargo Airport in the state said the ripple effects of the airport would see jobs created for unemployed youths in the state.

He, however, solicited the support of the state government in organizing a youth economic summit tagged Ogun Youth Economic Summit (OYES), noting the summit would help youths in the state see other economic opportunities they could tap into.
