The Witch: Part 2. The Other One (2022): Movie Review

Plot: The beginning of everything.

A girl wakes up in a huge secret laboratory. then accidentally meets another girl who is trying to protect her house from a gang. The mystery girl overthrows the gang with her unexpected powers, and laboratory staff set out to find her.

Review: The Witch: Part 2. The Other One is a sequel to the 2018 film “The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion,” the 2018 film actually did a decent job telling a complete story and elevated it with superb action, a charismatic cast, and plenty of striking visuals.

However, “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One” carry with it the intrigue of wondering where things will go and how everything will tie together.

Unsurprisingly, (The Witch: Part 2. The Other One) depicts the scene where Cynthia wakes up following the demolition of a lab by a gang of “gifted” young adults and then discovers a woman being abducted by several thugs.

Kyung-hee offers Cynthia a place to stay at her father’s farm after saving her life by disclosing the extent of her extraordinary skills.

Mercenaries have been hired to find Cynthia, but their conversation seems artificial and they have no history.

Then the other super powered youth hunting down Cynthia so that there are no survivors from the laboratory they destroyed.

They’re violent and lean heavily into being menacing to everyone in their way due to the advantage their powers bring them.

This movie is one to lookout for as it is action packed.

HITS: The introduction of some familiar faces to help stitch the two movies together.

FLOPS: The execution of its action feels less Satisfying Than Its Predecessor,

NOTE: The sequel finds itself trying to introduce more groups while still keeping its story small. Which winds up a huge problem.
